The Advanced Sailing Class is the last step in the Adult Ed pathway to becoming a seasoned Keelboat Skipper. This class is designed for sailors who already have a firm sailing foundation but are looking to progress as competent, independent sailors.

Through the Advanced Sailing Course, the student will

  • Learn how to Reef while underway
  • Learn how to perform a Quick Stop Person Overboard Rescue
  • Improve their departing and docking knowledge and skill
  • Learn critical knowledge about weather, tides and currents, and what to do in an emergency
Advanced Sailing completes the 3 parts of the Adult Ed curriculum. Students who successfully graduate from this course should be able to challenge for their Basic Keelboat Certification if they so choose.
