Having completed the application for membership, and payment of appropriate fee, the Downtown Sailing Center hereby agrees to accept Applicant as a member in good standing in the Downtown Sailing Center for the 2005 calendar year.

As a condition of membership, applicant hereby acknowledges receipt and understanding of the rules, regulations and by-laws of the Downtown Sailing Center and agrees to abide by said rules.

Applicant further confirms his or her understanding that boating and sailing, including use of the docks and facilities within the confines of the Baltimore Museum of Industry, the Baltimore City Fire Department Repair Shop, and the Harbor View Marina and Yacht Club (hoist location), involve a certain degree of risk, including the potential of injury to persons and property. Applicant understands and acknowledges such risks and hereby voluntarily assumes these risks.

Applicant further agrees, as a condition of membership in the Downtown Sailing Center, to release, indemnify and forever hold harmless, the Downtown Sailing Center, Inc, its predecessor organization, the Downtown Sailing Club, the Mayor and City Council of Baltimore, the Baltimore Museum of Industry, the Baltimore City Fire Department Repair Shop, all Harbor View properties, their respective principles, officers, agents, employees, heirs, and assigns from and for any and all liability in connection with Applicant's use of any and all membership privileges, including any injury or damage to Applicant's person or property, or injury to the person or property of the guest or family of a Downtown Sailing Center member.

As a member of the Downtown Sailing Center, applicant hereby agrees to wear a personal flotation device (PFD) during DSC programs, use and operate the Center's watercraft in a safe and proper manner and to observe the rules of safe seamanship at all times.
