The DSC is booking "Beyond Intro" classes for this season. Classes are limited to 2 students and must be full to run.

This course is for adults who have a strong sailing foundation but want to become a competent skipper. Intermediate sailing students learn: 

• how to leave and return to the dock (without a motor)
• how to perform crew overboard rescues
• the rules of the road and how to use basic navigation aids
• how to handle a boat in strong winds, and more!

Upon successful completion of this course, students will be familiar with many of the skills needed to pass a DSC skipper check-out and should be confident as crew aboard any small keelboat.

This is not an introductory course. Sailors should have some solid experience sailing recently. If unsure of skills, we recommend signing up for our 'Intro to Sailing 12 hour Course'.

If you complete the "Beyond Intro" Course and are still looking to improve your skills, Downtown Sailing offers a "Part 3 - Advanced" sailing course on a by-request basis.
