Taste of Sailing - 3 hr. Introduction

You've probably probably thought, "I've always wanted to try sailing." Well, our 3-hour Taste of Sailing course is here for you!

This course will run through the basics of sailing, introduce you to some cool nautical lingo, and get you on the Harbor for an afternoon of sailing.

    Boats and Facilities

Our 3-hour "Taste of Sailing" is taught aboard our Sonar class keelboats. These 23' boats have a large cockpit and heavy keel to provide stability. These boats are specifically made to not tip over, so you don't need to worry! Each boat will have up to 4 people aboard with a coach, so there will be plenty of opportunity to try your hand at the tiller or just relax and take in the sights.

Sailing from the Downtown Sailing Center will allow you to see explore Baltimore from the water in a fun and safe way.

Parking is available on site in the gravel lot of the Baltimore Museum of Industry. For most of the summer, the BMI farmers market is just wrapping up as the sailing begins. Classes meet just outside the gate on the main docks. Please plan to arrive a few minutes early to orient yourself and meet your coach.

Please also remember to bring a water bottle, sunglasses, hat, close-toed shoes, sunscreen and a great attitude. We'll see you on the water!
