Cruising Crew and Skippers, are you ready to get competitive with your cruising?
The Cruising Council is hosting for all cruising members the "Sunday Funday Race " series from May through October. All are welcome, from beginner to pro-racer. You don't need prior racing experience. The race course will be from the old fuel docks to a buoy near the bridge (Red 4 in Curtis Bay) and back. Meet at the docks at 11.30 for a pre-race briefing, and then, it's literally off to the races. Boats and crew will be assigned at the pre-race meeting.

Take this opportunity to sail at sunset and during the evening hours out toward the Francis Scott Key bridge. Enjoy the moon rise and learn about night navigation.
All Cruising Crew and Cruising Skippers who have paid their upgrade fee are eligible to participate.
Crew will be expected to assist in departing and docking at night, trimming the sails, and looking out for channel traffic, and unlit buoys. If sailing beyond the bridge, skippers must file a FLOAT PLAN with the DSC office and a friend. (Sample template available on the DSC website.) PFDs must be worn at all times.
Bring snacks, water, and layered clothing for any changes in the weather. Most important, HAVE FUN!
8:30AM - 5PM each day for class
Take an enjoyable 2-day cruise to Whorton Creek on one of the DSC's elite fleet of cruisers.
Leave the DSC Saturday morning and sail to Worton Creek. Dock and spend the night at the marina and enjoys the facilities. Enjoy breakfast Sunday morning and maybe a morning swim before departing. Lunch on both days will be on the boat, so please bring your own lunch and beverages.
The Worton Creek Cruise is open to DSC Cruising Skippers and Cruising Crew who have paid their upgrade fee.
If you're driving to the DSC and parking there overnight, please print out an overnight parking pass and leave it on your dash.
You will have access to hot showers and restaurants. Bring your towel, pillow, bed sheets or sleeping bag and sunscreen. Your skipper will contact you regarding preparations and arrangements. Skippers must file a FLOAT PLAN with the DSC office and a friend. (Template available on the DSC website.)

Join us for our cruising social. All DSC Sailors interested in the cruising program are welcome to attend.
During the social, we will do a presentation of the Cruising program activities and answer your questions.
We will be grilling burgers and hotdogs. Soft drinks are on us, but BYOB.
Again this year, we will sail to Rock Hall for the popular Pirates and Wenches Fantasy Weekend. Check out how much fun previous year's cruisers had during this cruise.
This Cruise is open to DSC Cruising Skippers and Cruising Crew who have paid their upgrade fee. We have secured marina reservations for three boats in Rock Hall.
For this event there will be 2 departures. One departure on Friday, the other on Saturday. Please register appropriately

Take an enjoyable 3-day cruise to Castle Harbor Marina near Kent Island
Leave the DSC Saturday morning and sail to Kent Island. Dock and spend 2 nights at Castle Harbor. Have a swim and enjoy a good meal and enjoy the live music. Enjoy breakfast Sunday morning and Monday. Also maybe have a morning swim before departing. Lunch on all days will be on the boat, so please bring your own lunch and beverages.
The Labor Day weekend cruise is open to DSC Cruising Skippers and Cruising Crew who have paid their upgrade fee.
Break up the work week by sailing with the DSC on Wednesday evenings! You’re invited to sail with us starting 5:45 PM.
Enjoy an evening Cruise during the week and practice evening and night sail on our cruisers. Life jackets are mandatory for all participants. Non-cruising members are welcome to join and try out the cruisers.

Let's continue the tradition in the Cruising program and have an Night cruise for Halloween.
Bring your Halloween Mask with you, wear your Halloween Costume and come and sail on the special night of the year.

The season is ending, it's time to prepare the boats for winter. We will go through the winterization checklist for all the boats and prepare the winter sailing boats.
We will also provide winterization instructions so you can reserve and use the winter cruisers.
Hello holiday lights and parade enthusiasts!
The DSC will be decorating 2 cruisers this year for the lighted boat parade. Please register here if you wish to participate. Here are the details:
* Meet up at 12p to decorate
* Leaving DSC docks at 4p for Anchorage Marina
* To have a good shot at winning the contest for best lighted boat, we will need donations. Please contact Cynthia or Elizabeth to donate lights or $ to buy lights and decorations for the boats. We intend to save the lights to reuse next year so your donation will benefit the DSC for many years.
