Come volunteer at the Downtown Sailing Center to learn about different aspects of maintenance. Depending on the weather, projects can vary from rigging, aesthetics, fiberglass work, general maintenance, cruising maintenance, and general facility maintenance.

Jammin: This weekend, Jammin should be finishing up the Triage Checklist, preparing the bottom, and beginning to look at the maintenance tasks. If you are interested in learning about J22 maintenance, this is the work party for you. John Wrangle is the Project Manager for Jammin.

15' Whaler: The 15' needs to have its engine removed, be flipped over, and have the bottom sanded and painted. A staff member will be on site to help direct this project.

Access Dinghies: The Access Dinghies and their equipment are extremely vulnerable to the elements during the winter, so we have removed a lot of their equipment and this weekend will store them by the containers. We will also be moving the centerboards and booms off the dock into another storage area. This project will take quite a few hands, so the more the merrier. A staff member will be on site directing the move.

Cruising Fleet: Gary Page will be wrapping up the winterizing project on the cruisers this weekend. He will need a hand finishing a couple of boats, and mostly tying up loose ends.

Sail Repair: Kathy Buckley will begin repairing sails this week out of the repair bin. If you would like to learn about sail repair, she will be repairing sails upstairs in the Fireplace Room.
