Instructor Training 

For New and Returning Instructors

The DSC is holding an instructor training and review for all returning instructors and those who want to be instructors.

All persons attending must be competent in all skipper components.

This training is for candidates who have mastered skills that include, but are not limited to: heaving to; reefing; quick stop person overboard rescue; figure 8 rescue; and backing out of irons and sailing backwards.

During the training, the learner will:

- learn/review the training methodology and protocol for The DSC Keelboat School program (Basic Keelboat, Intro, Beyond Intro and Taste of Sailing)

- learn/review key safety components of The DSC system

- learn/review Standard Operating Procedures for The DSC J/22s and Sonars, as well as SOPs for teaching courses at The DSC
