Powerboat Training for Accessible Saturdays

This training event is open to anyone interested in becoming a safety boat operator or safety boat coach for the DSC Accessible Program. The evening will be focused on teaching the basics of the DSC powerboats and how to best utilize them on an Accessible Saturday.

If you are a returning Powerboat volunteer we would love to have you come to this session since it will be a great opportunity for review. The session will also include a discussion on the best way to coach participants from a powerboat.

IMPORTANT: If you are interested in being a safety boat operator (not a safety boat coach) you need to have a least a Maryland Safe Boater’s license (you can complete the class online). Everyone who operates a powerboat in the state of Maryland is required to have that license. The DSC strongly suggests taking the US Sailing Safe Powerboating Course which can also count as your boating license.
