Instructor Training 

For New and Returning Instructors

The DSC is holding an instructor training and review for all returning instructors and those who want to be instructors. All persons attending must be competent in all skipper components.

Training will begin promptly at 9am, so please plan to arrive between 8:30 and 9 in order to pick up your training materials. There will be a lunch break around noon, and we will wrap up no later than 4pm.

This training is for candidates who have mastered skills that include, but are not limited to: heaving to; reefing; quick stop person overboard rescue; figure 8 rescue; and backing out of irons and sailing backwards.

Weather permitting, we will spend half of the day on the water practicing coaching skills, and half of the day on land-based training. The exact location of the kick-off and on-land portions will be weather-dependent - watch for an email a few days before the event with full details including agenda and location.
