Race Committee In-Person Training

Race Committee In-Person Training: 

For those that are new to Thursday Night Racing, we have a new event for you this year to learn how to successfully run Race Committee! Come out to the DSC on Saturday, April 30th at 5:00pm* for a hands-on Race Committee training event. 

You will learn how to assemble all of the equipment needed for RC duty (inflating/deflating marks, flags, AED, practice equipping each boat), practice setting marks, and practice the requisite powerboat handling skills.

Due to the limitations of space on the powerboats, we are limiting this event to 10 attendees. We are asking that you only sign up if you are part of a Thursday Night Racing team and are relatively new to racing. We are further asking that only two participants sign up from each team, and that the most experienced teams refrain from sending anyone to this event since you can hopefully train each other.

This is a new event this year, and if successful we will consider offering it again in the future. 

*This is perfectly timed to coincide with the end of the Women on the Water Spinnaker Clinic on this day - ladies, come out for the spin clinic and then stay for the RC training!

**Experienced racers - If you are able to help us run this event by providing mentoring on the dock and on a powerboat, please sign up as a Volunteer - we need 3 volunteers for a successful training!
