(POSTPONED - NEW DATE TBD) Maintenance Workshop - Standing Rigging

Have you ever come to a member sail only to find that a backstay looks like it is about to pop loose?

Are you concerned about the frayed end of a jib sheet or halyard?

Do you try to avoid reserving that one boat with that one loose screw? Or the one with the handrail that might give you a splinter?

The DSC is excited to introduce a new event for all members to learn more about basic boat maintenance and spend some time identifying and fixing issues. This event is not a work party, but a session to inspect, document, and fix minor maintenance issues before they evolve into more serious problems.

We'll work on understanding some common and recurring issues, practice applying the appropriate fixes, then set about addressing the issue on our J/22s and Sonars. After the fixes are in place, stick around for our Sunday Member Sail!

This session will focus on the inspection and maintenance of STANDING RIGGING.

This event will be led by DSC staff. Materials and instruction will be provided. Previous experience with boat maintenance is not required.
