Ronnie Simpson Talk - Open 50 Tour

The DSC is excited to be working with US Patriot Sailing, Oasis Port Covington Marina, and Sea Scouts to host a talk with Ronnie Simpson!

Ronnie is a highly accomplished ocean sailor and racer who has accomplished multiple Transpacs and is currently campaigning to compete in the Global Solo Challenge with his boat, Sparrow. Sparrow is an Open 50, which is a class of sailboat best known from the Vendee Globe Race.

Ronnie is excited to share his passion for ocean sailing and talk about his journey to compete in the Global Solo Challenge, which is a single-handed, around-the-globe race that Ronnie will be competing in in 2023-2024. Ronnie is especially enthusiastic to share this passion with young people.

Come on down to Port Covington after the Member Sail this afternoon to hear this awesome story and learn about ocean racing. And keep an eye out during the Member Sail for Ronnie and his boat on the water!
