Summer Camp – Beginner Sailing

Ages 8–16 · 1-Week Program

Our Beginner Sailing Program is perfect for first-time sailors or returning campers who want to strengthen their foundational skills before moving to the next level. Each boat includes 4–6 campers and one dedicated instructor, creating a safe, supportive environment for learning and fun.

What Campers Will Learn

Campers will build confidence on the water through hands-on lessons in:

• Wind awareness and reading conditions 
• Boat parts and basic terminology 
• Essential knots 
• Points of sail 
• Tacking, jibing, and basic sail trim 
• Introductory skippering skills 
• Sailing a simple windward–leeward course 

By the end of the week, campers will feel comfortable working as active crewmembers and will be well-prepared to begin their journey toward skippering.
