Learn how to volunteer as a Dockmaster for DSC Member Sails!

Are you a DSC member looking for an easy, rewarding way to give back to the sailing community? Volunteering as a Dockmaster for Member Sails is a great way to support fellow sailors and help create a welcoming, enjoyable experience on the water.

As a Dockmaster, your main role is to help things run smoothly at the dock. You'll assist with organizing boats (cruisers, J's, and Sonars) and help match skippers with crew members who share similar goals for the sail—whether that's a relaxed leisure sail or an opportunity to build skills.

Before the sail begins, you'll do a quick weather check (as simple as looking at an app), confirm boat availability, and greet participants as they arrive. You'll also keep an eye out for new or less experienced members, helping them feel comfortable and included. Clear guidelines and checklists are provided, so you're never left guessing.

Dockmastering is a low-pressure, supportive volunteer role that earns volunteer hours and offers a great chance to meet more people in the DSC community. Join us and help launch fun, positive sailing experiences for fellow members—sign up today!
