Official Member Welcome & Discovery— All Members Welcome - 11:15am to noon

Kick off the season with confidence at our Inaugural Start of Season Member Orientation specially designed for both new and returning members! 

This interactive orientation is designed to help all members feel confident, prepared, and excited for the season ahead. You’ll meet fellow members, get comfortable on the docks, and learn how to make the most of everything your membership offers.

We’ll cover:

• What to expect at Member Sails and how to get involved
• Basic safety practices, sailing terminology, and dock etiquette
• How boats are set up and what different crew roles look like
• What to wear, where to go, and who to ask for help
• Opportunities to build skills, meet people, and get on the water more often

You’ll also get a guided walk-through of the docks and boats, plus time to ask questions and connect with experienced members and staff.

Most importantly, you’ll learn how our community works—because at the Downtown Sailing Center, sailing is about safety, fun, learning, and showing up for each other.

No experience is required, and even seasoned members will pick up helpful reminders and new ways to get involved.

Come start (or restart) your season with confidence—we’d love to see you there!

Participants wanting to get out on the water can stay for the Member Sail at 12:00pm! 

We will meet at the Compass Rose in front of A Dock. From there, we’ll walk the docks and explore the DSC grounds. Please dress for the weather, as we will be outdoors for the entire orientation.
