Volunteer Registration: AUTISM Access-Ability Saturday Event

Thank you for volunteering for one of the DSC's access-ability Saturday sailing sessions. They cannot be run without volunteer support and commitment.

This is one of our themed events in partnership with Pathfinders for Autism. All participants will be on the autism spectrum and will be coming with their family members. All participants have pre-registered for the event.

NO EXPERIENCE WITH AUTISM IS NECESSARY. We still need volunteers to fill our traditional roles. 

There will be 3 shifts of sailors. 

9:30AM-10:30M

 

10:45AM-11:45AM

 

12:00PM-1:00PM

 

The day will begin at 8:30AM for rigging of our boats and launching them into the water. Participants will arrive at 9:00AM and head out soon after. The day will finish around 1:00PM.

The DSC needs volunteers to fill the following positions:
  • rigger and de-rigger of boats
  • sailing buddies
  • greeters
  • transfer aids
  • safety boat operator
  • safety boat coach
  • J22 and sonar skippers to take participants out on the day fleet boats 
  • cruising skippers to take participants out on the DSC cruising fleet
  • Escorts
